2025 Marching Lions

We've kicked off the 2025 Marching Season. In case you missed it, the 2024 Marching Lions ended a remarkable season competing in the MMBA Marching Band Competitions.

The Marching Lions worked hard throughout the season and earned First Place in Division 1A in addition to Caption Awards at States for Best Percussion, Best Color Guard, Best Music, and Best Effect. We were honored and delighted to participate with so many talented musicians from across the state of Maryland.

Walkersville High School was proud to have hosted our first MMBA Competition at the Walkersville High School last season. We are looking forward to another phenomenal home show this year on Saturday, October 11th. Watch for updates about show times and sponsorship opportunities!

Walkersville Marching Lions finished a remarkable 2024 season competing in the MMBA finals, going on to take their place as State Champions in the 1A Division at States hosted at Towson University.

Eat out for Spirit Nights

Grab dinner at participating restaurants around Frederick. A portion of the proceeds for your orders support WHS Music!

Check the calendar for Spirit Nights times and participating locations.

Attend school concerts

Admission to performances is generally* FREE but the boosters will be there with concessions and fun music booster merch.

Check the performance schedule for concert dates and times.

Music Booster concessions

Look for music boosters selling concessions, merchandise, and Spirit Wear at music concerts events.

Look for ways to donate and support the Music boosters at events. Keep an eye out for the Drum!

Through a diverse range of musical experiences, we aim to develop each student's unique talents, musical skills, and confidence, while instilling a strong work ethic and discipline. We are dedicated to creating a supportive and collaborative learning environment, where students can explore various genres, styles, and instruments, encouraging them to broaden their musical horizons. Our ultimate goal is to empower our students to become well-rounded musicians, critical thinkers, and engaged members of their communities, equipped with the tools and knowledge to excel in their musical pursuits and beyond.
